Discovery People was an American cable television network.

The channel launched in 1997 by CBS. The channel was called "CBS Eye on People" and featured news and human interest stories from CBS News.

The channel suffered significant losses, and in mid-1998, it was announced that Discovery Communications would buy 50 percent of the channel.[1]

On January 11, 1999, the network was renamed Discovery People, following Discovery's complete takeover.[2]

Discovery Communications eventually ended up using Discovery People's distribution for other networks. For DirecTV customers, the channel was replaced by Discovery Health on December 1, 1999.[1] Discovery People was quietly shut down later on.
